Outstanding pups are born from exceptional parents and are a product of a conscientious breeding program managed by experienced and knowledgeable dog people. With over 70 combined years of owning, breeding, managing, hunting, showing and trialing hounds and retrievers we know what it takes to lead the pack and be considered above average.
Breeding is carefully considered and always guided by our philosophy. All Gypsy Moon Dams are guaranteed sound and are certified to be free of hip and elbow dysplasia by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). Dams are also inspected by our vet for eyes, thyroid and general physical condition.
Dams are always physically fit and in top condition through daily swims, and at a minimum, an hour long romp through 15 acres. Of course, this is in addition to the large pen and playground they have access to during the day.
Studs are painstakingly chosen based on Gypsy Moon standards for athletic ability, trainability, drive, intelligence, focus and style. Hunting or competing sires are selected due to the high standards and clean genetics that field trial labs possess. In our opinion, there is no smarter lab that a well-bred, field bred lab.
A Gypsy Moon Retriever is a product of this sort of selective breeding where the best is bred to the best to beget the best. However, even with careful screening and consideration, no animal can be guaranteed to never have an health issue so to protect your investment all Gypsy Moon pups come with a 26 month health guarantee against congenital health defects, including hips and eyes.
Upcoming Planned Litters: Gypsy Maiden of Ravenwood and PMP’s Buddy’s Rich Riff due Fall of 2008. Riffer is a big, beautiful, yellow male who is intelligent, calm and purposeful. His strength lends well to his preferred profession as a goose retriever. He is also very charming!
These puppies’ pedigree will read like a “who’s who” in the world of historic field champions, as well as those who continue to compete, with 43 champions in Riff’s 5 generation pedigree and 50 in Raven’s. These magnificent pups will be black and yellow with the potential for chocolate as well.
A waiting list has been started and deposits of $200.00 will secure picks.
Also coming up for Fall of 2008 Gypsy’s Kiss of Kismet and Ziemer’s Smokein’ Charcoal. This is a “re-do” as the attempted insemination in January did not take. A waiting list has also been started for this litter and nonrefundable deposits of $200.00 are being accepted to secure your pick. Deposits are refundable in the event that Gypsy Moon Retrievers cannot produce your pup.
